Thanks
If its not to much can you please provide a picture of your choice Thanks

it depends on how much you make. some people say it should be your month’s income or something in that range.
A solitare with a princess cut diamond is my choice
Its not about how much anything cost is it ? especially an engagement ring, this ring is supposed to be for committing to each other, if you are already wondering about how much is too much then you are starting off on the wrong foot.
Go shopping together and have a look at rings its the best way.
What ever you can afford and in my opinion do not finance it.
I can’t say it’s too much without knowing your circumstances! If you are in debt, don’t own a home, and are putting this on a credit card… it may be too much! If not, then it may be the perfect amount! It all depends! If that was mu budget, here is what I would likely go for:
Just some ideas!
You’re going to tell us what currency that is. I’m from Canada, so I almost did a spit-take when I saw that. Even with the current price of gold, you should be able to get a very nice ring for $1500 CDN. And that’s assuming that you want big, gaudy bling.
Of course, if that is as much as what you’d make in a month, you want to seriously scale back, because you don’t want to make her uncomfortable with something that costs more than you can afford.
It is all budget dependent. My ring cost about $8500, but it is set in platinum, was custom made, and center stone is colorless with great clarity. Here is a picture:
Edit: Thanks for your opinion, PAX. My husband did not get ripped off… and actually, he tells me he paid closer to $8300. If you know anything about diamonds and the cost of platinum, he got a fair deal. Check out for proof of how much a round E color, VS2 clarity diamond costs. Actually, mine was reasonable considering it was custom made and the diamonds in the band are better quality than those used in premade rings.
It all depends on your budget…NEVER, EVER finance a ring! You should be able to find quite a bit to choose from with that budget. And please tell brwneyes that $8,500 for that ring was a rip off!!!
